Overplayed

You know a song has been overplayed when your 4 year old is in his room singing, “I keep bleeding, I keep, keep bleeding love” over and over again.  (Not that it’s a bad song.)

Spare

Kenny and my mom went bowling this afternoon while Luke and I watched.  Kenny loves, loves, loves to bowl.  Unfortunately, his parents do not so he’s lucky his grandparents will take him. 

Notice his score in the 7th frame (frame?  I think that’s right).  Kenny threw a spare with the kid rails up.  Good job, baby!

These shoes are made for walking

I finally got Luke into shoes yesterday.  It took a lot of clapping, saying, “yeah shoes” and pointing out the fact that everyone else wears shoes.  He still doesn’t like them when we first put them on but at least he’ll wear them.  One battle down…

Here’s a conversation that went on between my mom and Kenny on Saturday:
My mom:  “Kenny, do you want to go to the Olympics?”
Kenny:  “No.”
My mom:  “Not now.  Do you want to go when you’re older?”
Kenny (without any hesitation):  “No.”
I guess this picture is the closest Kenny will ever get to wearing a gold Olympic medal.

Time out

This is how it works in our house.  Kenny has this responsibility chart.  His daily responsibilities include stuff like getting dressed, brushing his teeth, making his bed (I help), picking up his toys and not going in time out.  Now, if he has a time out 3 days in a row he loses his Leapster [...]

Note to self

Note to self:  Do not buy another blow-up pool.  I think it lasted maybe 2 weeks.  At least we had this old one in the attic.  With a few pieces of duct tape, we were in business again (we’re all about class here).
