We had a package sitting on our doorstep today.  It was a book and toy for Kenny (that he already has) but the paperwork didn’t say who it was from.  We were racking our brains trying to figure it out when I took a closer look at the paperwork.

Soccer practice

Last night was Kenny’s second soccer practice.  This is the first time he’s played since he was three.  When he played back then, the entire team spent the majority of the time walking on this dirt path that was on the soccer field.  I can already tell that this year is going to be much different.

Assessment

Kenny had his first assessment at school today.  I think he’ll have 3 total throughout the year.  Mrs. B said he did really well.  His letter sounds are great and he’s already reading.  We have to work on the part of the assessment that includes quickly matching the letter sound to the letter.  I guess there [...]

Ivan

A few months ago, we decided to sponsor Ivan through CFCA.  We just received our second letter from him yesterday.  An adult wrote the letter (he’s only 5), Ivan drew the pictures and then another person translated it for us.  How cute is this?

What’s going on

- Steve and Suzie came over on Monday night.  We got to meet Ali (our future goddaughter) for the very first time.  The baptism is going to be some time in October/November.  I cannot wait!

This weekend was a little crazy but a lot of fun. 
Saturday morning – church 5k.  Eric ran it in 24 and I walked it in 45:46. 
Saturday afternoon (after each and every one of us took a nap) – Kovar/McCullough family reunion (Eric’s side) at Shawnee Mission Park.  We had a great time!
