It’s that time of the year again…

The Sprint Thanksgiving Day 5K is coming up.  Who’s in?  If we can get teams of 5 together, it’s only $18 per person if we enroll before the 12th.  Go here for more info on the race.

Bullet points

Kenny had his last soccer game today.  I really can’t say that I mind too much, considering how cold it has been lately.  We’re having lunch with the team tomorrow and then we’ll all go our separate ways.
Kenny starts basketball at the end of November.  He’s doing it with his friend J.T. (from preschool) for sure and [...]

Swim meet

Mary Jo wants Kenny to swim in a swim meet in February.  His basketball season starts at the end of November.  As long as that doesn’t interfere with him going to his swimming lessons, I think we’re going to try it.

Fall lessons

Eric coaches for a swim team 2 nights a week.  One of the perks he gets for coaching is free swimming lessons for our kids.  We started Kenny up last week and then both boys swam yesterday, Kenny, with an instructor, and Luke, with Eric.  I’m hoping that Kenny will be ready for the pre-competitive swim team [...]

GOOOOOOOOOOOAL!

Kenny scored his first goal at his soccer game….yeah Kenny!
I was (randomly) taking pictures when it happened and then got caught up in the moment so these are the best I was able to get…

I know, it’s completely blurry but you can see that Kenny is in control of the ball.

Kenny was all smiles afterwards.  He [...]

First soccer game of the season

Here were some highlights from Kenny’s soccer game today.  The kids still completely played bunch ball but at least this year no one was playing in the dirt.
Kenny is #17 on the blue team with white socks.

And here’s Luke pretending to be a pillow for Amanda.  She would pretend to lay on him and as [...]

Soccer practice

Last night was Kenny’s second soccer practice.  This is the first time he’s played since he was three.  When he played back then, the entire team spent the majority of the time walking on this dirt path that was on the soccer field.  I can already tell that this year is going to be much different.

Also, today is [...]

Ways people find your blog

WordPress tells you how people come across your blog, such as what phrases were used in a search.  Today, someone came across my blog by searching for ‘picture of stupid KU Jayhawk’.
Hmm…I’d say that the college football season is officially in full gear now:)

What’s going on

- Steve and Suzie came over on Monday night.  We got to meet Ali (our future goddaughter) for the very first time.  The baptism is going to be some time in October/November.  I cannot wait!
- On Tuesday night I met up with my MIL, SIL and Eric’s aunt Carol and cousin Rachel for Carol’s birthday [...]

True Fitness

My husband decided to start a fitness blog.  Please go here to see it and get some ideas.
He’s run half marathons (and is working towards a full one right now), swims (he won State in the 100 free in high school and was an All-American in college), bikes and lifts weights.  His college degree was in Exercise [...]

T-ball and H.P.

Kenny is officially done with t-ball.  They had their last practice last night and received their medals.

And some Luke cuteness…

After practice, we ran the boys over to my parents house so they could spend the night there (thanks Mom and Dad!) while Eric and I went to see the 12:10 a.m. showing of Harry Potter.  [...]

Last t-ball game of the summer

Best friends

Getting ready in the dugout

Warming up

Up to bat

Running to 1st

Good game

The kids have one last practice on Tuesday night.  They’ll get their medals then.  T-ball has been fun but most weeks they had 2 games and 1 practice, which seemed like a lot for 5 year olds.
Next up, soccer in the fall.

That kid looks familiar

Remember this?  Margot emailed me the final copy.

If that doesn’t make you want to swim for them, I don’t know what would:)

Summer swimming lessons

Kenny starts his second week of swimming lessons today.  His first week started off pretty rocky.  It was storming out on the first day so they split the day into a half safety and half swimming day.  I had a hard time getting Kenny to go with his instructor for the safety part and then he [...]

1st t-ball game of the summer

Kenny had his first t-ball game last night.  It wasn’t much different from last year in terms of how the game was played  (everyone on the team batted and then went to the outfield while the other team hit) but it was night and day in terms of the way the kids played.  All of [...]

Ayudeme!

A few weeks ago after putting Kenny to bed one night, he saw a giant, hairy spider crawling on his ceiling.  Instead of yelling for me, he started calling out “ayudeme”, which means help me in spanish.
Can you tell that my kids’ cartoon of choice at the moment is Diego?
Reminder:  Kenny’s first t-ball game is tonight [...]

We are Kansas

Damn, damn, damn.  KU just lost to Michigan, which means I now have a new team to hate with a passion (in terms of basketball).  Crap.
OK, I’m going to bed but I’m leaving you with 2 things:
1.  KU is still the National Champ until the finals on April 6th.
2.  I love this video that Jamie had posted on [...]
