Night #2 with Luke didn’t start or end well. Here’s how it went down:
8-8:30 He was crying in his room
8:30-9 I rocked him to sleep. When I tried to put him in his crib, he subsequently woke up and began to cry again.
9-10 I left him in his crib with his door open so he could see me in the family room.
10:00 I was ready for bed. I shut his door and he began crying. Yet again.
10-10:15 Crying (Luke, not me).
10:15 Blessed silence.
5 a.m. We hear Luke begin to sob and cry, “I want my mama, I want my dada” over and over again.
5:05 a.m. I go down and bring Luke back to bed with us. Yes, I am a sucker who likes my sleep.
And then we all slept on and off until 9 a.m.
Do you know what I did today? I found a night light for his room (but not the kind that I was looking for).
He went right to bed tonight. I’m not sure if it’s because of the night light or if he was just so exhausted from the past two night. We shall see how tonight fares.
