Like it says, Kenny had a great first day of kindergarten. We were going to walk the 2 blocks to school this morning but unfortunately, it looked like this out:
Instead, we hopped in my car and drove to school. For the first week of school, Mrs. B asked that we walk the kids into the lunchroom, where all the kids meet. Each grade has a table to sit at. By this time next week, I should be able to just drop Kenny off and watch him walk inside. At 8:00 the teachers came and collected their students. Mrs. B had her kids line up in a straight line and then we all marched to the classroom. I didn’t even get a good-bye hug from Kenny. He just walked right into his classroom without looking back, which was probably a good thing.
I picked him up at 11:05 (we walked this time). He said he had a great day and met some fun kids, although he can’t remember their names. They had music class and went on a gingerbread scavenger hunt. He said those were fun but they weren’t his favorite part of the day. Guess what was….snack time. That’s so my Kenny.
We went to McD onald’s afterwards to celebrate a good first day. I have a whole other story about what happened there but I’ll have to share that one later.
